Wow! Lookie what I found folks! 
This is a real treat, for me at least. Somewhere, hidden in a Word file I never noticed till just now and just happened to accidentally click on, was a piece from my one of my first roleplays! This here is even before I joined Destinies Intertwined, and is actually the first time I ever adapted my Jackal character for an RP and attempted to portray him. He’s quite a bit different from the version I built up through Destinies (he talks normally, for one thing), but at his core he’s basically the same character. Anyways, I’ll set up the scene for you: Jackal has just gotten into a fight with some immortal demoness woman, and after trading a few blows they get into an argument about the nature of immortality. The demoness mentions that her greatest desire is to finally be able to die, which throws Jackal for a loop. Here’s how he responds:
“But…why? The world is always changing. Each day is new and full of wonder. I see it constantly changing around me, never the same. I don’t see how anyone could grow weary of this life, no matter how long they lived. You have a gift. Your immortallity means that you can watch the full story of life unfold. The story is just begining, and there is so much more left to see. You will get to know the entire book, rather then just the few pages mortals are bound to. Don’t you want to see how the story ends?”
Remember people, this was pretty much my first experiment into RPing, and I was still learning. I’ve left this unaltered, complete with spelling and grammar mistakes, so you can get a real taste of the best I had to offer at the time. In fact, this quote right here was the best I had to offer for a long while (it’s not very often I get the chance to go all philosophical in an RP!), though eventually as I grew I began writing more and more quality posts.
